The upcoming months will be packed with activities for Providence House families. Your house is likely just as busy and exciting!
Each year at this time, our community of supporters ensures that families in crisis enjoy a special holiday season. Below are three ways you can help Providence House families now and in the coming months.
1. PROVIDE FUN FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS
Children experiencing homelessness often face unimaginable trauma, and the goal at Providence House is to provide stability and a sense of normalcy for them. Fun, educational activities that keep them engaged are key – particularly during school breaks and the holidays. Your help can make a tangible difference in the lives of the children and teens whose families are working toward self-sufficiency. Please consider purchasing items from the Children & Teens Activities Wish List.
2. PUT THE GIVE IN THANKSGIVING
Support a homeless family at Providence House by providing a basket with all the food and supplies needed to create a Thanksgiving meal. What better way for your family or group to share with those in need than to offer them a chance at a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings? Families vary in size, but each basket should be able to feed six (6) people.
3. ADOPT A FAMILY
The Adopt a Family program provides gifts to homeless families in the Providence House Program. It is an opportunity to make a huge difference in the lives of families by providing them with a joyous holiday season. Sponsors “adopt” a family and purchase gifts from a wish list written by the recipient. This program is a great way for families, churches, groups, and businesses to spread holiday cheer by sponsoring a family in need.
Thank you for your continued support of Providence House families. We are beyond grateful! Visit our holiday giving page for more ideas or give us a call at 318-221-7887.
