Be on the lookout around Providence House for newly appointed SPD Junior Officers!
Providence House children met real-life heroes from the Shreveport Police Department on Monday, November 4. Thanks to Chief Wayne Smith and Lt. Diana Sanchez, officers from the Community Oriented Policing Bureau came out in full force with mounted patrol, bike patrol, lake patrol, and other police vehicles.
Students on school break learned why various types of vehicles are needed to keep our city safe, took a ride in SPD’s ATV, and enjoyed a friendly game of cornhole (students vs officers).
Not to be left out, children in our Child Development Center (CDC) enjoyed in-class and playground time with officers. It wasn’t easy to see who enjoyed the visit more.
Thank you, Shreveport PD, for building a trusting, friendly relationship with Providence House children. You have made quite an impact!
