Graduation Ceremony Honors 14 Families

September 24, 2020 by Millie Flowers Stories
1

Congratulations are in order! We held a graduation ceremony honoring our Fall Class of 2020 on September 17th. Fourteen families (15 adults, 29 children) completed our program and are now living in their own houses! We hosted the ceremony on the front steps of Providence House and livestreamed the event so the community could join us from a distance. A special thank you to Akin’s Nursery, Card My Yard, Barksdale Federal Credit Union, DJ Mayhem, and SRAC for helping us create a beautiful ceremony!

SHREVEPORT, LA – Providence House livestreamed their fall 2020 Graduation Ceremony honoring fourteen families on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 5:30pm.

The graduation ceremony took place on the front porch of Providence House and will celebrated the achievements of fourteen families (15 adults, 29 children) who have shifted from a life of homelessness to one of self-sufficiency. The ceremony was the hallmark of the work of the agency and an opportunity to share with the community the

return on their investment.   Verni Howard, Executive Director, shared, “Providence House’s mission is to break the homeless cycle one family at a time and these families are a prime example of sheer determination to persevere in the midst of a pandemic and a hurricane.”

The ceremony was celebrated virtually on Providence House’s Facebook page starting at 4:45pm; the graduation ceremony began promptly at 5:30pm. Everyone was invited to watch the accomplishments happening in our local community.
