General Summary:
The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Director of Human Resources in the day-to-day operations of the HR department, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and benefits administration. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detailed, compassionate, proactive, and passionate about creating a positive, mission-driven work environment.
Essential Duties:
- Assist with creating job postings and managing recruitment processes.
- Coordinate candidate communications, interviews, and background checks.
- Facilitate onboarding for new hires, including orientation, training schedules, and paperwork.
- Maintain updated and accurate job descriptions.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees’ questions related to agency policies and procedures.
- Support employee engagement initiatives that foster a collaborative and inclusive workplace.
- Assist in planning staff appreciation events, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain confidential and accurate employee records in accordance with legal and organizational standards.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Assist in updating HR policies and the employee handbook as needed.
- Maintain oversight of HR compliance and risk management situations.
- Assist with payroll processes by ensuring accurate timekeeping and personnel records.
- Liaise with external vendors for benefits, training, and compliance-related services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a nonprofit or social services setting.
- Working knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of discretion, professionalism, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar payroll processes.
- HR certification is preferred by not required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
