General Summary:

The Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Director of Human Resources in the day-to-day operations of the HR department, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and benefits administration. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detailed, compassionate, proactive, and passionate about creating a positive, mission-driven work environment.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist with creating job postings and managing recruitment processes.
  • Coordinate candidate communications, interviews, and background checks.
  • Facilitate onboarding for new hires, including orientation, training schedules, and paperwork.
  • Maintain updated and accurate job descriptions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees’ questions related to agency policies and procedures.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives that foster a collaborative and inclusive workplace.
  • Assist in planning staff appreciation events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate employee records in accordance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
  • Assist in updating HR policies and the employee handbook as needed.
  • Maintain oversight of HR compliance and risk management situations.
  • Assist with payroll processes by ensuring accurate timekeeping and personnel records.
  • Liaise with external vendors for benefits, training, and compliance-related services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a nonprofit or social services setting.
  • Working knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of discretion, professionalism, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar payroll processes.
  • HR certification is preferred by not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 per year
