Whether you’ve decided to run or if you’re still thinking about registering, you might have some questions. Like how long is a 5K? How long does it take to complete? Why is this important?
First of all, a 5K means five kilometers or 3.1 miles. Half-marathons and marathons are usually 13.1 miles and 26.2 miles. Like any race, the time it takes for you to complete the course is entirely up to you. Advanced runners will usually finish the course in 14 minutes, intermediate runners around 24-30 minutes, and walkers can take over an hour. If this will be your first race, try focusing on your pace and finishing the race. Concentrating on finish times can leave first-time runners out of breath and exhausted.
The Home Run 5K was created to benefit our families with children and raise awareness about Providence House’s mission to “break the cycle of homelessness one family at a time.” Join our community and let’s motivate each other while helping families in need.
