We have been busy!

We have been busy!

The first quarter of 2022 was busy. The month of March was especially busy and in so many good ways. In addition to other goings on like graduation, a full volunteer schedule, and other typical agency happenings, March was National Reading Month. This one element had several fun pieces to it. We know all too well the importance of literacy. By focusing on reading for one month, we were able to continue helping our kids and youth cultivate a habit of reading.

Here are the top three mentions for National Reading Month:

Our Child Development Center kids and staff enjoyed wearing funny hats, socks, and the like during Seuss Week in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday.

Some very caring Caddo Magnet students generously donated a bookcase and about 100 family-friendly books. The bookcase is in a prominent location in our Family Room for easy access.

Resident children participated in a month-long Read-A-Thon and read as many books as possible. The top three children who read the most books in March received a box of toys and were presented with certificates.

April has proven to be super busy too and we could not be happier!

Thank you for your continued support. We are beyond grateful to our generous community.
