Child Development Teacher
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Infant Teacher to plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of our infants in the Child Development Center. The program used will be in accordance to the Frog Street curriculum designed for infants 8 weeks to 12 months. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the job with an ability to connect to the infants, parents and co-workers to create a relationship of trust. The teacher’s goal is to help cultivate learning in the classroom and help the infant prepare for moving to the next level in the educational process.
Responsibilities:
– Present lessons in a comprehensive manner and use visual/audio means to facilitate learning
– Provide individualized instruction to the infants by promoting interactive learning
– Assess and record the infant’s progression and provide feedback to parent (s)
– Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom
– Plan and execute educational experiences both in-side and out-side
– Observe and understand students’ behavior and report to the center Director any suspicions of neglect, abuse etc.
– Develop and enrich professional skills and knowledge by attending seminars and workshops
Skills/Requirements:
– High school graduate or equivalent
– Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate (required)
– Preferred degree in early childhood education, in lieu of degree work experience will be considered
– Proven experience as a teacher
– Understanding teacher best practices and following the educational state regulations
– Follow the Providence House Child Development Center (CDC) policies and procedures
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Organized and committed
– Creative and energetic
– Strong moral values and discipline
– CPR and First Aid certified (required)
