Dietary Cook
The Cook (Dietary Staff) is responsible for preparing and providing nutritious meals for the families served at Providence House. The Dietary Staff is responsible for an organized, clean cooking and dining area. The Cook will be compliant with following all state and federal food regulations.
Essential Duties:
- Prepare the kitchen daily according to all federal and state regulations using the daily checklists
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, storage room, and dining room area always, including the washing and drying of all necessary dishes, pots, and pans
- Completion of daily temperature worksheets for all refrigerators and freezers
- Put all food purchases away in an organized manner, including dating items within 24 hours
- Keeping all kitchen appliances (refrigerators, freezers, stoves, sinks) clean, functioning, and always organized
- Prepare all scheduled meals and snacks according to the prepared menus
- Completion of the menu worksheets daily
- Assist with menu planning by notifying the supervisor of immediate food and supply needs
- Attend all scheduled meetings and trainings as they relate to the job, including any CACFP and food bank training
Requirements:
- Must have 1-2 years of experience working in a commercial kitchen and preparing meals for large quantities of people
- ServSafe preferred, but willing to assist with the certification process
- State-issued current driver’s license or I.D.

Pay: $13.00 – $14.00 per hour
